Receptionist, Information & Referral Specialist

Full time Position
5 days a week,35 hours per week
Description
•Responsible for managing the switchboard and routing calls to appropriate person, recording of accurate messages, retrieving messages from answering system, etc. •Research, develop and maintain database of all affordable housing opportunities in Monmouth, Ocean & Mercer counties (Region 4) including but not limited to supportive housing resources for individuals, families and senior citizens seeking assistance. •Retrieve, print and distribute all intake forms received via the agency website to each respective program within the department (pre purchase, rentals, foreclosure, utility assistance). • Intake and assessment of client needs during initial telephone, internet, walk-in to our agency for all programs within the department as assigned. Respond to e-mail contact forms, for purchase/rental intakes received via the agency website, register clients for password rental listing on website and all other tasks •Assess client’s eligibility for the Affordable Housing programs in Region 4 by utilizing income guidelines for each respective housing assistance program (i.e. Council on Affordable Housing (COAH), Housing Urban Development ( HUD) & HOME Program). •Maintain online client intake database of all who are seeking assistance by logging into the system daily and inputting all information requested within each relevant data field for phone and walk-in client intakes. •Provide resource information referrals; distribute housing & utility applications, client counseling packets for all programs within the department as well as other relevant resource information and materials regarding affordable housing opportunities and all other agency programs as necessary and available. •Refer clients to appropriate resource agencies based on needs within the community, based on needs. •Maintain database of existing affordable rental and for sale housing resources and supporting programs. •Attending agency and invited community outreach events as assigned to represent the agency by speaking about and/or providing information and resource materials regarding all programs and services •Responsible for updating website news information, posting homebuyer education workshops & community events, uploading weekly listings of available apartments, activating client passwords for viewing of rental listing on website. •Other duties as assigned and necessary to the functioning of all programs within the department.
Requirement
•Capacity to deal with a diverse clients with various levels of need. •Two years experience in Customer Service field in direct service role. •Two year associate degree preferred or equivalent additional experience. •Ability to speak clearly while responding to clients in need. •Strong Computer skills (Word, Excel, e-mail etc). •Excellent interpersonal skills. •Ability to multi-task. •Time management skills. •Case management skills. •Strong organization skills. •Knowledge of clerical procedures. •Must be very personable.

Social Service Coordinator
Location

Part-time
2 days/week from 3 to 7 P.M. for a total of 8 hours weekly
Description
Under the supervision of the Director of Resident and Client Services, the Social Service Coordinator will be responsible for the following: · Referrals to any and all social service agencies such as food stamps, energy assistance, homelessness prevention, Senior services, alcohol and drug counseling, mental health services, public assistance, etc. · After school activities/home work club · Computer training/Internet assistance · Arrange for visiting health services & clinics · Literacy workshops/training · Employment assistance and resume writing assistance · E.S.L. services · Trip/event planning for families and children · Grant writing to seek additional funding sources · Developing and implementing resident questionnaire · Organizing an elected Residents Association
Requirement
At least 60 college credits where the major focus is Social Work. Working knowledge of Monmouth County programs and agencies. Ability to engage and interact with a wide variety of clientel. Compassionate and Creative. Salary: $18.00 per hour.
